"I wish cancer never existed, but a non-fatal alternative existed in its place," Jon said. The stone glowed, causing both Jon and Karyn to shut their eyes. When they opened them, Jon got an earful. "Jon, what the hell did you do *that* for?" "What?" Jon said, getting defensive. "This way I've gotten rid of cancer for everyone, not just myself. Are you saying I should be selfish?" "No. But I thought you were only going to make your *own* sickness go away, not change the laws of nature." "I didn't change the laws of nature, Karyn. I only got rid of a deadly disease. I'm doing everyone a favor here." Then his eyes lit up, as an idea occurred to him. "In fact, I could do an even *bigger* favor." Karyn looked at him, getting worried about what he was thinking. "With this stone, I could get rid of *all* deadly diseases. Forever. Getting rid of cancer was just the tip of the iceberg." "Jon, maybe you want to think about this. There might be unfortunate side effects or something." "You worry too much, Karyn. How could getting rid of deadly diseases be a bad thing?" Jon took a deep breath and then said "I wish ..."
