On his way out of his class, Tom turned to Felicia. "Thanks a lot for giving me detention. All you had to do was be nice to him." "Be nice to that fucking jerk?" Felicia asked. "Yeah right." "I think I liked you better before." "Before what?" "Never mind." He walked away from her and to his locker. On his way, someone bumped into him ... hard. "Freak," a guy said. Tom looked around, but didn't see who said it. He opened his locker and saw the photo of him and Karyn. Suddenly, all irritation of being Goth melted away. He stared at that photo for what seemed like forever, until a girl spoke to him, breaking his concentration. "You like her, don't you?" He turned around and saw Felicia. "Are you *following* me?" "Tom, I already know where your locker is, remember?" He looked back at the photo, then shook his head. He didn't want to admit it, but he thought that he really was falling for Karyn. Despite the fact that she was Goth. Or was it because of it? His mind was so messed up that he didn't know. Tom feared what he was becoming and only wanted to be normal again. But soon he wouldn't. "Well?" Felicia asked. "It's none of your business," he said, grabbing his second period books and slamming his locker door. "Just leave me alone."
