Zoe's Mom Discovers the Talisman's Power

In her hand, Zoe's mom still held the talisman, as she said "I wish I knew where Zoe went." The talisman grew warm, causing her to drop it, in surprise. And suddenly, she *knew* where Zoe was going. It was that club she told Zoe time and time again not to go to. She stood up and was about to leave the bedroom, meaning to go out after her daughter, but then she stopped. *How did I know where she was going?* she thought. She looked at the floor and saw the jewel she had found from under Zoe's bed. She picked it up and looked closely at it. She remembered wishing to know where her daughter was. Could it be possible that her wish was actually *granted*? No wonder her daughter kept it a secret. Her mom put the talisman in her pocket, thinking that Zoe was much too immature and impulsive to have such a power.
