Jon whirled around to see Sarah McMillan, but not as he knew her. Sarah was as beautiful as ever but she was dressed far differently from the peppy head cheerleader he was familiar to. She was wearing a comfy, though still expensive looking, dark blue hoodie with a rainbow on the front, and sienna knit corduroy high waisted pants, along with low heeled brown boots. The clothes were still rather nice, but much more understated than the bright poppy colorful garments she normally wore. That change extended to her makeup, which was much more understated than usual. Instead of a bubblegum pink, her lipstick was a much more natural tone of peach and in general it had all been applied with a lighter touch. Jon actually thought she looked a bit nicer with the less in your face look. Oddest of all were the pair of cute reading glasses perched on her nose; Sarah would never be caught dead in glasses, and frequently used the childish insult four-eyes against both Leonard and Kyla. Sarah looked at him confused, and bizarrely considering there usual animosity for each other, concerned. "Sorry Mads, I was just joking since you're still in makeup. You okay, babe?" Jon was flabbergasted, did Sarah McMillan just call him babe? And who was Mads? Where was he!? Jon forced himself to breath slowly; obviously something had gone wrong with the stone and he needed to figure out what had happened without acting weird. "I'm fine, just a bit tired.." Jon trailed off as he heard the voice coming out of his throat. He didn't sound like himself; instead his words came out in a light melodic soprano. Actually, he'd been distracted by Sarah, but he felt weird all over. Sarah was still looking down at him with her brow furrowed in concern. Jon stumbled to his feet, feeling off balance and unsure on his feet. It felt like there were strange bindings constricting his body and something stuck to his head? He needed a mirror. "I just need to, uh, go to the bathroom." Sarah didn't look like she totally believed him but she nodded, "Okay, darling, I'll wait here for you." Then she leaned in and kissed him lightly on the lips. In any other circumstance Jon would be massively distracted by being kissed by the queen of Lakeview, but at the moment he was far more concerned by the changes to his body and reality. He stumbled out away from his weird half bedroom, finding that he was in what appeared to be a large television set. Various parts of other rooms he recognized, like a desk from his school, or Karyn's living room table, were stacked up elsewhere in the large room. He maneuvered his way around the various lights and pieces of camera and sound equipment; luckily he saw a small sign directing him towards the restrooms, so he hurried that way. He slipped into the studio bathroom, grateful that no one else seemed to be in the men's room and finally got a look in the mirror. At first glance, he still looked like him, but on as he stared at his reflection, it became increasingly apparent that something had changed. The most obvious shift was his face; his cheekbones were higher, his face more heartshaped, his eyes a bit larger, much fuller eyelashes, a slightly smaller nose, pierced ears... the more he looked the more the changes became apparent. He reached up and touched his face, feeling a slight smudgey substance on his face; was he wearing makeup? He quickly tried washing his face off; haphazardly grabbing a makeup removal pad from a dispenser by the sink. (He was surprised to see it, but wondered if maybe it was a typical hollywood thing.) As the makeup came off though, he didn't start looking more like himself, he started looking LESS like himself. A dusting of cute freckles appeared on those high cheek bones, plumper lips, his face overall just looked more and more ... feminine? There were some similarities to the face in the mirror and his own, but it was like his new face had been made up to resemble his old face as close as was possible. He blinked in confusion and felt something stuck in his eyes, was he wearing contacts? He'd worn novelty contacts once for a Halloween costume as a vampire, and remembered the sensation. With trembling hands he reached up and delicately picked the lens from his eyes. He set the lenses aside and looked up in the mirror, vibrant green eyes gazing back instead of the brown he was used to. Jon tried to run his hands through his hair in stress, but felt a weird tugging sensation as his hand caught in his hair. Hair that felt... weirdly plasticky, like it wasn't real hair. He reached up and gave his hair a tentative tug, only for it to shift on his head; he was wearing a wig. Of his own hair?! He quickly started tugging more and the entire wig popped of his head, also tearing the bald cap that was below it. Panic getting to him, he started scrabbling at the remains of the cap and the wig, wanting to get it off his head, painfully pulling it off from where it had been adhered to his skin. However, once the shreds of the cap and the wig sat on the counter, he didn't find the real hair he was used to below. It was still brown, but it was a lighter chestnut tone compared to the dark brown hair he was used to; there was also a lot of it. It was held tight with a net and many bobby pins, but as he slowly pulled them away, long glossy slightly wavy hair tumbled down to his mid back. Jon fell back to the far wall in disbelief and felt a new sensation as his ass touched the tile wall. He reached down and felt his rear, realizing he somehow had a perfect bubble butt and wider hips, with the cut of his jeans trying to hide it. Jon felt like hyperventilating and breathing was getting difficult. He was panicking and SOMETHING had been constraining his chest ever since he woke up. He tugged off his jacket and the t shirt he was wearing, tossing them in a heap on the floor. If he wasn't distracted by his panic attack, he might have realized his shirt was much baggier than usual, hanging very loosely on his frame in a way that hid his bodytype and made him look bigger, even having small shoulder pads in the shirt and jacket to make his frame look bigger. Jon looked in the mirror; his waist was MUCH thinner than it had been, now sporting a six pack that certainly hadn't been there before. However he hadn't bulked up, he'd slimmed down and tightened. His gaze went up from his waist and stomach to his chest, which was bound with many tight bandages. Frantically he started pulling at them, finding a loose end and quickly unwrapping them until all the cotton bandages fell to the ground. He took a deep unconstrained breath, finally understanding why he was having trouble breathing. He looked up to see that apparently he now possessed well proportioned breasts that had been bound tightly to give the illusion of his old male torso. He was still wearing the oddly tailored masculine jeans, but it had become obvious; Jon was now a girl that for some reason had been heavily made up and dressed to look like his old male body. Had be turned into an actress playing himself? Jon had a brief moment of panic when he heard the door opening and hurriedly threw his discarded shirt back on to cover his free singing bouncing breasts. A tall mustachioed man strode in and then froze in surprise when he saw Jon. "Maddie, what on earth are you doing in the men's room?" "Uh, I just really needed to get out of ... costume?" Jon improvised, hoping the man would accept the excuse. There was a moment of tension but luckily the man finally chuckled good naturedly. "Hohoho, I know your not a fan of the script for this episode, so I can see how you'd want to get out of the makeup as quick as you can. Still, you should really have hair and makeup take it off for you, or at least do it in your own trailer. It could be some pretty bad press for the show if there's a headline about 'Starlet Madison Merlin' being found lurking in the men's room." Jon chuckled along, "I suppose you're right; I just, uh, wasn't thinking. I'll head for my trailer now." Jon grabbed the wig and jacket before trying to quickly leave the bathroom, now painfully aware of how his hips were swaying. "I think I saw Lauren looking for you by the set, see you tomorrow!" the man called out to him as he hurried away. With no clue where the stone had gone, or what reality the stone had dropped him in, Jon stumbled back out into the nearly empty studio, utterly unsure of what to do next.

Fake it Till you Make it (1)

I want to know...what was the plot of the episode that required this? Episode 1, where the main character wishes themselves into a girl and that's the series? If it is more than 1 episode, there's the issue of the opening credits...especially if its an old school opener. Also, this is more curious...do people use the word Starlet?

So, the plan is for the episode they were filming to be the premiere of the second season of the show. In the plot of the show, Madison's regular character Jennifer has wished herself into Jon in this episode, which is why she was wearing all the makeup and clothes to make her look like a boy. Planning to have the show be a teen dramedy sort of CW adjacent. No clue if people still say Starlet, but the man she ran into, a producer on the show, was an older gentleman with perhaps a few antiquated phrases in his repertoire.

Might inspire me to add to one of the other branches. Bringing back old ideas.

I'd be interested to see that! The whole premise sparked a lot of ideas for me. Planning to have Madison be the break out star who's in conflict with the more established star, Shannon who plays Karyn. Jon's going to have to struggle with Sarah suddenly being a supportive worried girlfriend, and Karyn suddenly hating his guts, his original body being a one episode gimmick, and an entire life outside the show he's a complete stranger to.

That's similar to my original version, where it is Jon who is the breakout star, the actresses playing Sarah and Zoe are the nice ones, Shannon is a prima dona who thought she was supposed to be the star...and if they do end up in rewrites...what does that do to Jon's original life? If he gets back to it?

Yeah, I thought that was a lot of fun to play with. I was thinking it could be interesting to explore the actors who play Tiffany, Biff, Steve, Jons Mom, etc, and how different they are from their characters. I'm thinking Shannon was a child star who is used to being the center of attention and was planning for the show to be her break into serious adult acting, but Madison was hugely popular in the first season, getting movie offers etc, so there's tension there. For this branch, I'm toying with the idea of Jon eventually figuring out that the wish swapped him across realities with the real Madison Merlin, who thinks she's become trapped in the show she acts in. Whether he'll still want to go back by that point is up in the air, especially since his old reality will have altered to match the ongoing plot of the show.
