Bet on it: Strange outcome

Jon and Zoe watched the coin fly in the air. It was a wild toss, thrown in the heat of the moment. They followed it over and down onto the tile, where it rolled and rolled. It hit the hallway wall where it ricocheted and continued to roll, until it stopped upright. It fell to neither side. Jon and Zoe looked at each other and back at the coin. What did this mean? This was unprecedented.
