The change was sudden. One moment, Mikey was dressed in a plain gray T-shirt and pajama bottoms, then he was wearing something else, belonging to the person *closest* in proximity to him. But since it couldn't have been Zoe (because she was holding the wand) or Jon (because he had already been affected by the wand), the person whose personality and lifestyle had been stolen and given to Mikey was someone either in one of the nearby houses, or someone outside.
