Duplicate lives

I sat down on my bed heavily and chewed my lip thoughtfully. I hadn't been fully truthful with Karyn about the stone. Technically I hadn't lied, save by omission, but there was a lot I hadn't said. Karyn thought that before I'd revealed the stone to her I'd only made a couple of harmless wishes like with the branch, but that wasn't true. In reality I'd had the stone for two months and had made many wishes, and actually she'd known about them. She also thought that the two of us hated Sarah McMillan and her jock boyfriend Biff Meadows, but that too was not accurate. In reality, I was Sarah and she was my beloved Biffy. Or rather we had been. A careless wish had duplicated us and while our clones remained Sarah and Biff, we'd been transformed into two nobodies called Jon and Karyn. Two nobodies who hadn't even existed before that wish! And worse of all, Biff forgot he was really Biff in a girl's body and now believed himself to actually be Karyn!
