A New Body

I nodded, pleased, and looked out to the void. "Can I try this body?" Almost instantly, I was in an empty meadow. It was stunningly detailed, grass, trees, flowers, a creek. The purple sun hung in a green sky, and the orange grass...okay, whoever made this testing area was color blind or was feeling particularly nautous that day. "What is this place? The Vallet of Vomited Color-what the hell?" I stopped talking, shocked. I had understood every word I had said, but...I was speaking Elvish. I looked at myself in the water's reflection and saw my avatar staring back. "Hi," I said. "Elar," my reflection said back. I shook my head in amazement. The game was translating a completely made up language for me. Concentrating, I could visualize the written version of the language, too. Someone had really gone all out on this. I knew I had to spend a few minutes trying this out.
