Magic Lamp: John Becomes the Genie

And then the thing John was trying to avoid happened. After tripping over something, one of his gloves fell off and as an involuntary gesture, he grabbed the lamp, not realizing that his glove had fallen off. A few seconds later, he realized his mistake, but it was too late to do anything about it. He was the one who rubbed the lamp, so he was the lamp's Genie. But what would happen to him? Would John turn into a woman? After all, the Genie was supposed to be female, right? Or would he remain male? He could feel himself changing and used all of his will to force himself to stay male. But would it work?
