A Horrible Mistake Redux

Jon flipped the odd colored stone over in his hands, still shaken from the news of his grandfather's passing. He didn't really know what to make of the note, magic wasn't real after all. Perhaps his grandpa meant for the stone to be some sort of good luck charm, or maybe his mind was just slipping in his final days. Jon wished something as fantastic as a wishing stone could actually exist, it would make his college life a good bit less dull than it'd been so far. Almost without realizing it, six fateful word's escaped his lips, "I wish something interesting would happen."
