Miss Fine: Athena meets Mrs. Gibson

As Athena was walking to school trying to think of how she would evade Miss Fine, she mindlessly crossed the street when suddenly she heard a loud honk and a car screeching as the person slammed the breaks. Earlier that day, Jon was on her lunch break after being back to work from taking time off for her son Mikey being sick. The previous day had been busy enough with her bank and the DMV mixing up her and her son Linda Gibson. “How can a DMV mix me up with my son?” Asked Jon, she paused for a moment and remembered that when she took Linda to get his State ID last week, the system had a glitch. She figured that had to be the case, not knowing that was another memory the Salon placed into Jon’s mind in order for him to think that he was a 45 year old woman who needed to replace her drivers license and that Linda was her 14 year old son that was looking for his independence with an ID of his own. When really, before the Salon and Miss Fine, it was actually Linda the 45 year old mother who took her son Jon to get his Driver’s License now that he was 16. “Oh heavens! The DMV can be a handful at times.” Giggled Jon. “But at least they resolved my dilemma.” She was thankful to be back to work. She hasn’t seen her friends in a week. “I’m glad Rebecca was able to speak to my boss about the situation. He was completely understanding today.” Jon looked at her watch which used to be Linda’s and said, “Look at the time, I best be getting back to work. I don’t want to be late clocking back in, Mr. Tyne was so generous with my time off that I would like to give a good impression on my first day back.” Not knowing that her 50 year old boss Mr. Tyne was actually a 16 year old cheerleader named Melony Tyne. She had crossed hairs with Miss Fine when she was called into her office looking for a career path. She got into her car and started it, Jon was on her way back when this strange girl walked out in front of her car….honk!! Jon slams on the breaks. “Are you ok? You can’t walk out into the streets like that. What would your parents say if they found you not in school and injured? You need to be more responsible young lady!!” Athena was a bit shaken, after the initial shock wore off she recognized the person lecturing her. “Jon? Jon Gibson?” Realizing it was Zoe’s older brother but he’s wearing a light blue blouse, tan Pencil Skirt, tan pantyhose and light blue heels. His face had makeup like it was applied professionally and was that his hair? His hair was lighter, longer, and curled. As if he was a middle aged woman who attends hair salons. “Pardon me?” Jon said. “You’re Jon Gibson, I’ve seen you at Zoe’s house, you’re her older brother!”, Athena exclaimed. 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵’𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘒𝘢𝘳𝘺𝘯 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘴𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘑𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘡𝘰𝘦’𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘮 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘔𝘰𝘮 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘑𝘰𝘯 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭 𝘰𝘯 𝘐𝘋 𝘥𝘢𝘺. Thought Athena. “Young lady, when addressing an adult, you do not use their first name. It is Mrs. Gibson to you.” Said Jon in a stern voice only a mother can have. “As for hanging out with my daughter and my son, I’ve never seen you before. Now if you are friends with Zoe, then you would know she has cheerleading practice. I suggest you’d joined them. Maybe you can use some direction being on the cheer squad with my daughter. You’re too pretty and smart to be skipping school.” Athena was confused, the effects of Miss Fine were getting stronger. “Was it because Mrs. Gibson was around me?”, Athena thought. “Is that how she does it? Each person she helps carries her influence?” Suddenly Athena got a headache. “I…don’t…know..what’s…wrong..with..me.” “I…feel……..I’m so sorry Mrs.Gibson. I should’ve been looking both ways. Can you forgive me? I’m actually heading to school right now to meet up with Zoe. I can’t wait to tryout for cheerleading!” Exclaimed Athena. A smiled appeared on Jon’s face. “You’re forgiven sweetheart.” Said Jon in a caring, loving manner. “Now hurry on back to school, I’m going to ask Zoe later if you made the team. I’m rooting for you, dear.” Athena said thank you, and continued back to school excited to tryout for the cheer squad. Meanwhile Jon was headed back to her job.
