Communication Difficulties

"I'm English," Jon said in her high-pitched voice. "English! American!" The man's face filled with disgust as he stared down at her. "A-me-ri-can," the man pronounced in highly-accented English. "Yes," Jon sighed in relief. "Please help me, I-" She stopped abruptly as the man pulled a gun and aimed it at her head! "Who do you work for?" he growled. "No one," Jon stammered. "I just-" She gasped as the man pressed the gun to her forehead. "*Who*," the man demanded, cocking the weapon, "Do you work for?"
