"In this reality," he said, "you're my pet...and no one thinks anything of it." He wasn't sure what he was going to do, but he needed to understand this more. He'd selected personality swap...but a dog with a human personality wouldn't quite work, so reality seemed to have shifted to make it work. He put the leash on Carol's collar, just like he did with Lucy before, and they headed off to see if anyone they encountered had anything to say about the situation.
