Jon Doesn't Know What To Say

Jon didn't know what to tell his family. After calming down about the fact he was going to wake up as someone else, the fear stayed as a constant nagging feeling in the back of his mind...like someone realizing they had a terminal disease. And one that no one would believe him about. He watched his family eat dinner. Even his annoying siblings...tomorrow they'd be strangers. He felt guilty for not being a better big brother to them. And he already felt exhausted. "Jon...you've barely touched your food," his mother said. "Are you coming down with something?" Jon stifled a yawn. "I...guess....maybe." "Well, you go right to bed, Mister," she insisted. "But, Mom...I wanted to..." He couldn't say he wanted to say goodbye. He trudged up to his bedroom, his limbs feeling like they were hundred pound weights. He sat back on his bed and dialed Karyn. "I'm sorry, Jon," Karyn's mom told him. "She and her father went out. She should be back in a few minutes. I'll have her call you." He thanked her and hung up. **Got to stay awake** He told himself. An hour later, when Karyn called, Jon was sound asleep, snoring away.
