Wish Chain: One of Zoe's Biggest Desires

Zoe sighed, looking at the computer screen. "I wish Mom would let me do whatever I want." She shook her head, then continued surfing the web, not realizing that her wish actually came true. But she wouldn't notice until she talked with her mom again. ------ In the next room, Jon frantically looked for the stone. At first he assumed that Sarah had taken it, but he wanted to be sure. Maybe she dropped it when she disappeared. But he had no luck. It really was gone. He grabbed his cellphone and called Karyn, as he left his room. "Jon?" Karyn asked over the phone. "Hey, Karyn. I'm coming over, okay? We need to talk about the stone." He hung up, not letting her answer. As he walked by Zoe's bedroom, his sister made another wish. But *this* one would be granted to Jon, since he was the person closest to her. And since he didn't hear her wish, he wouldn't think that anything was different.
