On their way to Sarah's house, Jon and Karyn ran into Brad and his gang (Hank and Rich). They were the "neighborhood bullies". "Well, well, well. Looky here guys. Kid thinks he's a girl." "Shove it, Brad. We've got to be somewhere ... that isn't here," said Karyn. "Oooh, I'm really scared. Hey guys, look I'm tremblin' here." His buddies laugh. "She said leave us alone," Jon said. "Or what? You're gonna hit us with your little purse?" "Come on, Jon. Let's get out of here." Karyn pulled Jon along with her and they ran away, with Brad and his buddies yelling insults at Jon. "Ignore them, Jon. Soon, we'll have the rock. Then we'll deal with those jerks."
