"Of course you can!" said Jane. "I didn't say how much younger. I wish that Karyn is teenage again." The wish worked fine--no reversals needed. Karyn was still Jane's friend, so that wish was true. Karyn was younger than before the 'young' wish, so that was still true. Karyn wasn't a single parent, so that was still true too. Besides, Jane had wished that Karyn can still be changed. She meant "can't," but for once, someone had made a bad wish and the mistake helped instead of hurt. As Karyn grew, she said "Thanks! You were right! I just didn't think of it. I guess ten year olds don't get complicated ideas like that." Only one question was bothering Jane. "Karyn, don't be too certain. Something's the matter...." "What is it?" "I wished I had a single mother as a friend," said Jane. "Then you became one. Then I wished you weren't one any more. But I can't reverse wishes, so I must still have a single mother as a friend--it's just someone else. Did I change someone else into a single mother with that wish?" "That doesn't sound good," said Karyn. "At least it can't be Jon--he's a ten year old girl until we let him become Jon again. And he can't be a ten year old girl and a single mother at the same time... uhh, I hope he can't. But I wonder who it **is**?" It wasn't long before they found out, since....
