Roommates

We entered the lift and rode it down several floors in silence and then down a long, curving corridor lined with doors. Eventually we reached an open one and the guard gestured for us to enter. The room was moderately sized with a large wardrobe against one wall next to a desk with some sort of computer terminal built in. On the opposing wall was a vanity table with a large mirror. Against the wall between them was a large canopy bed and as far as I could tell there were no windows to be seen. To our shared horror, Pink was a very dominant colour in this room. “This is your room,” grunted the guard, “Bathroom’s through there.” He nodded towards a door next to the desk. “Whose room?” asked Trevor, “Mine or Jean’s?” “Both.” “But there’s only one bed,” I pointed out. “New girls have to share,” shrugged the guard heading for the door. “It’s getting late so stay in here for now; you can explore tomorrow”. And with that he left, closing the door behind him. I half expected to hear him lock it behind himself to trap us in, but all I heard was his footsteps heading back down the corridor. “So what now?” I asked Trev.
