I answered by shifting back into a fox. It wasn't until I swished my tail experimentally that I realized I was still wearing a badly torn set of pants. "I wish my clothes were repaired and altered to fit my current form." Karyn shook her head as my pants were magically repaired. She wanted to see if people would notice the rip. Even with the "wish camouflage", Karyn was a little concerned as she followed me (in my fox-form) into the restaurant. The woman at the front looked at Karyn, then at me, then said "I'm sorry. Animals aren't allowed to eat here." Karyn and I looked at each other. How come the wish wasn't working right? Karyn looked back at the woman. "But he's not really an animal, he's ..." "Yes, yes. I know. A shapeshifter." Karyn's eyes went wide. "You know that he's a shapeshifter?" "Of course," the woman said. "Then, you know that he's actually a person." "Yes, but only *humans* can eat here." She pointed to a sign on the wall. "See. It says HUMANS ONLY. He'll have to morph back into human-form before he can eat here." At that moment, I thought about being human again and I morphed back into my normal human body. "How's that?" I asked. The woman smiled. "Just fine. You can go in." Walking to the buffet, Karyn asked me "If people think shapeshifting is normal, I wonder if we're the only ones with that ability."
