Jerry Allen carefully maneuvered the bus through the traffic jam; then as he again accellerated down open highway he allowed a small fraction of his attention to drift back to his fantasy. You see; Jerry had always fancied himself a star pilot. And from time to time he would imagine that his bus was instead a shuttlecraft flying a route between exotic space stations. By the time he realized something strange was happening, the crystal fragment lodged in the busses grille had almost finished converting the vehicle into a sleek passenger spacecraft. The last part to change ws the steering wheel; which was suddenly replaced with a helicopter-style control stick. Though the knowledge of how to fly had come with the upgrade to his bus; Jerry had to land in a nearby field to recover from the shock. It was a couple of minutes before he thought to see what had happene to his passengers.
