Wish Evolution

The old woman blinked suddenly. "Mikey, are you all right?" She asked to the boy wearing the black skirt and top. Mikey felt dizzy. He put his hand to his head. They'd failed. "Let's go home," he said. Unknown to Mikey, and Sarah, wherever she was, they'd introduced a change to the wish. It had evolved, like a virus. Previously, the victims had sought out their target's rooms, and changed, then moved on from there. When Sarah and Mikey had intercepted it, the wish had changed its modus operandi. The victims would now accost their target wherever. On the street, in their offices, cars, in businesses. It created a widening pool of people who could be affected at any given time.
