They were **really** running fast -- almost 30 mph. The police cars were going faster, but they were still far away. This gave Jon and Karyn time to escape. While running, Jon asked Karyn "Why don't we just use the stone?" "I don't want to make another mistake with that thing. It's easier if we just run to the outskirts of town." After a few minutes, they made it to the city limits. But they didn't change back. "I don't get it. We're outside the city," said Jon. "Maybe we have to be outside the limits of the future city." "How much further is that?" Karyn checked the map in her mind. "About another 4.7 miles." "4.7 miles?!" They heard the sirens get closer. "Maybe we **should** use the stone, Karyn. I don't think we can evade the cops for that long." "Okay, fine." Karyn opened her robotic hand. "It's gone!" "What?!" "I must have dropped it."
