I don't think this plot ever had rails to begin with ;) With an attitude like that, Julian's probably eventually going to find himself running foul of the fact that people do this thing where they band together for each other's mutual benefit to do stuff like take care of over-aggressive animals, it's called "civilization" and it's proved to be surprisingly resilient...he might do well to at least take a lesson from *real* predators, which generally have more sense than to pick fights that they can't handle. As for Ricky...hmm. Seems mostly like he's let this one instinct completely override his better judgement. *Way* override it. That...could cause some problems for him down the road. (No, no specific ideas, just that general thought...)
