The Stone Isn't In Jon's Bedroom

Jon figured that if the wishing stone wasn't in the motel room, then it still must have been in his bedroom, where he left it when he went to sleep the previous night. But he was wrong. Because at the very moment he was having that thought, Mindy (the prostitute who had sex with him) was rifling through her purse and pulling out the stone that was hidden inside. She smiled at it, thinking that she could pawn it off. The sex she had with that boy was abysmal. And the money she got for it just wasn't enough to compensate it for her. But maybe this stone could offer her some cash. It didn't look like much, but the kid was hanging onto it like it was gold. Maybe it was something special, like a meteorite or something.
