Mikey had been at a friend's house at the time all of the changes had been happening to his family ... the family who no longer resembled him in any way. But there was a reason for that. Mikey was an adopted child, adopted by Linda and her husband. So his full name was Mikey Takada, even though he wasn't Japanese or even Asian in the slightest. And speaking of Linda, she continued to change while she slept, until she finally finished off her transformation, becoming a Japanese-born woman named Yuina Takada.
