Miss Fine: It's Friday

Linda was dreaming, the earbuds still playing in her ears when suddenly someone pulled them out, shaking her. "It's your turn in the shower," Zoe said. "If you leave the earphones in, you don't hear your alarm. And then you'll have to explain to Mom why you're late." Linda got up and stumbled toward the shower. After a quick soaking, she quickly brushed her short hair back without even looking in the fogged up mirror, dried off, and went back to get dressed. Sneakers, jeans, t-shirt...bag...and then down to breakfast. It felt so familiar a routine Linda barely thought about it.
