The Cloud: Linda is Zoe's Sister, Not Her Mom

"Uh ... Mom?" Zoe asked. "I need to ask you a question." "Mom? What the fuck are you smoking, Zoe? Do I look like a mom to you?" asked the girl, who used to be Zoe's mother Linda. "No. But ..." "But what?" Zoe was about to say something else, but her attention was diverted when she heard the doorbell ring. "That's for me," Linda said. She quickly put the carton of juice back in the refrigerator, then grabbed a leather bag sitting on the floor and headed for the front door. Zoe walked into the living room to get a better look at who was apparently outside their house. After Linda opened the door, Zoe saw two girls standing outside. She didn't recognize either of them, but they were both dressed like Goths. "Hey, Linda. Ready to go?" one of them asked. "Fuck, yeah. My stupid sister won't leave me alone." *Sister? Does she mean **me**?* Zoe thought. And then Linda and her two "friends" were gone and the front door was shut, leaving Zoe alone to try to find out just what the hell was happening around here.
