Randy looked slack-jawed at a couple of guys he considered his friends: Tom Welles and Danny Foster. "Uh ... hi, guys," he said. But that's not what he *wanted* to say. It was like his mind was sluggish. He couldn't think straight. Tom shoved him out of the way. "Get away from us, you fucktard." Why did they call him that? It was the kind of thing *he* said to losers like ... like that Biff kid. He grabbed his head. Why did he feel so confused, so ... uh ... slow? A couple more friends walked by and gave him bad looks. He got up in their faces and said "Why are you ... uh ...?" But before he could finish his sentence, one of them shoved him, just like Tom had. "Get away from me, you shithead." What was happening?
