It's a fun story, and certainly at the extreme end of a transformation (but really interesting, and I love an unexpected and somewhat 'dark' twist of your chapter. Though yeah, I did try to lighten it just a smidgen.
one can't rush inspiration, if I can think of something more I will add to it of course.
