ABANDONED: Donovan

"No, I will *not* wait, Donovan," a man said. "I'm getting the hell out of here." "Listen to me. You're a fucking moron if you think you can make it right now. Nothing's going to happen in the next thirty minutes. So, sit your ass down and *wait*." "Who the hell are you to tell me what I can and can't do?" At this point, Charlie risked it and peered into the room. The two men were on the far side of the room, so they wouldn't see him, fortunately. One of the men grabbed the other's arm. "Get your fucking hand off of me, Donovan." "No. You try it now, you're a dead man." "I don't care. You saw what happened to the city. No way am I going like that." Donovan let the other man go. "Fine. Kill yourself. What do I care?" The other man hesitated for a second, then walked out of Charlie's field of vision. "Asshole," Donovan said to himself. From somewhere in the room came the same metallic sound Charlie heard before. What was making that sound? And what were those two guys talking about?
