Cheerleading Practice

Sarah and her friends walked out to the football field. It was a force of habit, even though they now had no reason to be out there. In the distance, they saw the football players doing warm-up exercises, and closer to them they saw ... Zoe and her friends *trying* to do cheers (and not doing a very good job of it either). "What is *wrong* with you today?!" Allison yelled. "Have you been *drinking*? The only ones who know what they're doing are me and Erika." Zoe glared at her. "I told you we weren't feeling very well." "That doesn't explain why you suddenly suck at cheerleading." Then she looked to her right and saw Sarah and her friends watching them. "Looks like the freak squad came to watch." "What?" Zoe asked, annoyingly. She looked around and saw Sarah and her friends over by the bleachers. She always got on edge whenever someone used the word 'freak'. "Oh. Them." She turned back to Allison, but saw that she was walking towards Sarah. "Get out of here, you freaks!" she yelled at them. Sarah's eyes went wide. It was hard for her to accept that no one worshiped her anymore and that people either ignored her or treated her like trash. It was even harder to cope with something like this. Just one day earlier, Allison was a friend and now she was an enemy. "We can watch if we want to," Melissa said. "No, you *can't*," Allison said. "This is a freak-free zone. Now get out of here!" Sarah nearly got tears in her eyes, but kept herself stable. She looked at her friends, who looked as hurt as she was, then agreed to leave. They weren't used to this kind of treatment. Allison stood in a victory pose (one that Sarah stood in a lot) as Sarah and her friends left the field. Zoe looked over at them as they left. It was just the previous day when she and her friends were treated like that. She knew Sarah was a bitch, but at that moment Zoe felt sorry for her. "Well, now since the freaks are gone, can we get back to practicing ... for *real* this time?" Allison said, as she walked back to the cheerleaders.
