The ring of Greed

Lucifer plucked the brown ring from the box and grinned. The ring of Greed was known to instill intense wanting for all possesions in whomever wore it. Throughout history, it had caused even the most giving of men into selfish and vindictive hoarders of treasure. He teleported into Jon's room and snuck the finger onto his hand. He grinned wider as he did so. "With this ring in play, I doubt he'll even last a day." he said as he returned to his lair, waiting for morning and Jon's awakening.
