Not *his* room

The room looked strange. It was roughly like his, but some of the colors and decorations were different. He glanced at an electronic photo frame on his desk that showed a picture from when the family took a vacation--instead of himself in the picture, there was a girl, in the same pose, with longer hair than his and who resembled Zoe a little bit. But it wasn't Zoe, who was in a different part of the photo anyway. The only logical explanation is that he was in some kind of alternate reality where he was born a girl. He stepped over to the desk and picked up one of the photos, then put it down. Then a door opened behind him. He turned to see a girl who looked a *lot* like himself walk in. "Who are you and what are you doing here?" she said, in a voice that sounded like his on a recording, but higher pitched.
