Stepping out

I took a deep breath and opened the door. A very normal hallway was beyond the door, nice, non descript carpet, generically numbered doors. Clearly FOG had settup these apartments like a high end hotel. I found an elevator, rode it down to a plain lobby and found the door leading outside. As far as I could tell, everything seemed normal. Clouds floated lazily by overhead, birds chipred, in the distance, I could hear the rumble of traffic. I glanced at the cars in the parking lot. California plates. Shrug. Reasonable enough, FOG being based in Silicon valley wouldn't be much of a surprise. I pulled out Leslie's keys. Hmm. One was for a BMW, with a little remote dangling on the keyfob. I smiled, and pressed the button to open the trunk. I was rewarded with a red coupe popping open it's trunk. I headded over to it, closed the trunk, unlocked the car and got in.
