Time for a Walk

"Get out..." she said, pushing him toward the door. "Leave me alone..." She pushed him out and closed the door. Jon found himself in the hall, and headed downstairs. Mikey was sitting at the table. He hadn't seen as much of the rest of his family since this happened. Even though they were oblivious to the situation, he was embarrassed to be seen like this. "Hey, boy," Mikey said, patting his back. "You want me to take you for a walk?" *No,* he said. But he doubted he had a choice in the matter. Before he realized it, Mikey had attached a leash. "Mom, I'm going to take Jon for a walk." *I don't need a leash,* Jon insisted. But Mikey was oblivious.
