Slowly Swapping: The Variable

Gary rummaged around the table and found what he was looking for, makeup remover wipes. Gary quickly removed the makeup that was on his face. "There, that's better" Gary thought to himself as he looked in the mirror. Gary sighed and then crossed over to the bed, slipped of his shoes and then lay down. This was extremely trying. It is said that an unanticipated variable introduced into an experiment can produce unanticipated results. Gary, having entered a system from outside it, having been out of town, was such a variable that might change how things had worked up until that point. Gary fell asleep...when he woke up, he wasn't in his bedroom. He was in the guest room.
