Isn't everyone else stuck in such a way? They will be having mythological or furry decendents once changed I think. Indeed many are the product of such given the virus existed a hundred years ago. Jon in this world can 'fix' others but not herself... If anything perhaps it challanges her own ethics on how to fix a world with no immediate solution to her own problem. If she lets everyone else be human she condemns herself to isolation. That's the bigger picture I see anyway
